So, the Taurus is over 10" longer, a few inches wider and taller, weighs more, and the only benefit in terms of space is the massive trunk. See for yourself.

EDIT: Whoops, looks like I trimmed the specs of the Fusion exterior dimensions, but you can still see the length, width and height.

But the Taurus comes with the prestige of a full size car!

Hehehehe... Sorry, couldn't keep a straight face. *snicker*

I don't get it!

Who needs a trunk that big?

Other than guys in the mafia. And they drive Caddy's anyways

Technically there is a tad more room in the Fusion than the Taurus passenger compartment.

And yet someone has the nerve to call the Taurus a full-size car.

Ironically, it seems that the Fusion is the size of a 1st gen Taurus.

The Taurus is super super comfy, though.

That's the one big thing it has in its favor.

I wouldn't call it a luxury car, but it sure is a comfortable one.

Have you ridden in a new Fusion? They're quite comfortable as well.

The Taurus is horribly inefficient spacewise. Ford is trying to go the better not bigger route, similar to Nissan with the Altima and Maxims. Unfortunately, the Fusion is pretty good already making the Taurus a tough sell. Probably why they created the police version with it. Supposedly, the next Taurus will be a stretched Fusion.

I have and was not impressed by the seats. Hard and uncomfortable in my opinion.

It is. My longest ride was only like, a hundred miles or so but it was very comfortable that whole time. The sound system was even half way decent. Very nice cars.

My trunk is indeed MASSIVE. Every time I see someone else's trunk now it looks positively miniature compared to mine, haha.

You did miss one more hugely important benefit of the Taurus:
ECOBOOOOOOOOOOOST POWAAAAAA!

If I'm honest, the Taurus could do with a somewhat lower beltline and ass. But than I wouldn't be able to exclaim "DAT ASS!"

Nissan ran into this same issue a few years ago, when the dimensions of the Altima started to come very close to those of the Maxima.
